"I do not mean to suggest that our handsome, newly enlarged library is to be a headquarters of busy bookworms, old and young, routinely absorbing knowledge by the hour while birds sing outside and the Mets fight it out for last place in the National League. On the contrary, a good library is a joyful place where the imagination roams free, and life is actively enriched."

The Carnegie Public Library and the Public Computer Center will be closed on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 so that the staff can attend a training session.

The staff will be getting all of the information about the 2012 Summer Library Program. While summer seems far away it takes a great deal of preparation to have a great summer reading program.

The theme will be revealed during National Library Week, April 8-14, 2012.

The Public Computer will also be closed on Friday, November 11th.
